DCA-1 Little Mermaid |
This mark is part of Larry's "DCA Benchmarks #1" virtual geocache. Therefore the close-up photo below obscures the part of the disk that might give away the answer to that mystery geocache. Link to waymark.
This area used to be the entrance to the Golden Dreams theater and had a benchmark that we called "DCA-1 Golden Dreams." In 2011, after major reconstruction, the attraction reopened as The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure. During the construction, the old benchmark (numbered "24") was destroyed and a new one was installed a few feet away from the original location, so we gave it a new name reflecting the new attraction near it. It's still waymark WM955, though. |
DCA-2 Award Wieners |

DCA-3 Greetings from California |
This mark was part of Larry's "DCA Benchmarks #1" virtual geocache until it was destroyed during reconstruction of the DCA entrance area in 2011-12. You can view additional photos of it and finders' logs on its archived Waymarking.com page. Link to waymark. |

DCA-5 King Triton's Carousel |
This mark was destroyed during construction in late 2007. It used to be one of five disks in Larry Klementowski's virtual geocache of DCA benchmarks. Now that its location is no longer a secret, I've posted some photos of it. You can also view its old Waymarking.com page. Link to waymark.

DCA-6 Golden Gate Bridge |
Geocacher "Teacher Matt" found this one while doing the DCA Benchmarks virtual geocache. He reported it to Larry, who verified its existence. Lloyd then looked for it and got some photos for me. It's on the eastern footing of the Golden Gate Bridge, just inside the main entrance of DCA. Update June 2012: Larry reports that DCA-6 is now under new concrete--if it's even still there at all. So this one is gone--as, in fact, is the Golden Gate Bridge, which has been remodeled into the Glendale-Hyperion Bridge from Southern California. :-( However, I'm leaving the link to its archived page on Waymarking.com in case you'd like to view more photos and finders' logs. DCA-7 Sunshine Plaza |
Meg found this marker in Sunshine Plaza. The first photo is looking toward the sun fountain, and the second toward Condor Flats. Update June 2012: Larry confirms that DCA-7 is now gone. Here's the link to its archived Waymarking.com page should you want to view the information there. Link to waymark. |
DCA-8 Playhouse Disney |
Another find by Lloyd, this one on the right side of the Playhouse Disney queue, toward the sun fountain. Update June 2012: Larry and Lloyd have confirmed (with the help of an obliging cast member) that this one has been destroyed. You're welcome to view the archived information about it on Waymarking.com. Link to waymark. |

DCA-9 Disney Animation |
Lloyd reports that this one is in the curb at the corner of Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood Blvd., next to the Disney Animation building. Note the similarity in location to MGM-2, which is on Hollywood Blvd. near Sunset Blvd. at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida. Link to waymark. |

DCA-10 Condor Flats |
I don't know how I missed this one during my January, 2004 visit, because it's nicely set off by the yellow line on the Condor Flats tarmac, but thanks to Lloyd for finding it. It's in front of the Condor Flats AirTours plane. Link to waymark. Update June 2012: This mark is now part of Larry's "DCA Benchmarks #1" virtual geocache, so I have obscured the lower part of the disk so as not to give away the information you need from it for that cache. |

DCA-11 Grand Californian |
Lloyd found this mark in 2004 near the entrance to the Grand Californian Hotel. Unbeknownst to us at that time, Larry and his wife Julie had found it in 2003, in an amusing way. Julie had been walking around DCA looking for benchmarks, and she sat down for a break on the railing near the walkway to the hotel. She glanced down, and there was a disk right in front of her! She later met up with Larry and excitedly "dragged" him over to see it. Of course, he didn't need much convincing to see a new benchmark! Link to waymark.
Note that the disk got stamped with the same leaf impressions as the surrounding walkway. Yes, at Disney properties, even the pavement is themed in places! There's a twigs-and-leaves pattern near Expedition Everest, and a pretty giraffe pattern at Animal Kingdom Lodge. |

DCA-12 Rushin' River Outfitters |
Meg spotted this survey marker in front of Rushin' River Outfitters. Link to waymark. I'm also including a photo taken in 2007 of Rhonda and Bill Rushing of Berntsen International, the company that makes Disney's survey marks. The Rushings at Rushin' River! |
DCA-13 Redwood Creek Challenge Trail |
In January, 2004, I found a survey mark near the entrance to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Later that year, Lloyd replaced my nighttime photos with some much better daytime ones. Link to waymark. |

DCA-14 Golden State Amphitheater |
That's intrepid survey mark hunter Meg gazing out over Paradise Bay in the wide-angle photo that Lloyd took in 2004 of a mark at the Golden State Amphitheater. This mark was destroyed in 2010 during the reconstruction of the lagoon for "World of Color." You can still view the Waymarking.com page about it. Link to waymark. |

DCA-15 Pizza Oom Mow Mow |
Thanks to Meg for finding this marker near the Pizza Oom Mow Mow restaurant in 2004. (Hey, I just report the location names--I don't make them up. :-)) In 2011, it was destroyed by construction. I'm providing a link to its Waymarking.com page in case you want to refer to that for historic purposes. Link to waymark. |

DCA-16 Boudin Bakery |
This one is from Lloyd, and is near the tour entrance of the Boudin Bakery tour. Link to waymark.
Update July 2011: This mark is now part of Larry's "DCA Benchmarks #1" virtual geocache. Therefore the close-up photo below obscures the part of the disk that might give away the answer to that mystery geocache. |

DCA-17 Mickey's Fun Wheel |
Laurence and Andrea told me about this new one in October 2010. It's near Mickey's Fun Wheel (formerly the Sun Wheel).

DCA-18 Paradise Pier East |
Another one from Laurence and Andrea, this one near the steps to the World of Color viewing area at the eastern end of Paradise Pier. Larry got another photo for me, and in 2013, Derek sent me an innovative photo of the mark and California Screamin'. Link to waymark. |
DCA-19 Paradise Pier West |
Laurence and Andrea were on a roll and found this one at the other end of Paradise Pier, near the Golden Zephyr ride. Link to waymark . |
DCA-20 Toy Story Midway Mania |
The final one found by Laurence and Andrea in October 2010, this one is near Toy Story Midway Mania. Link to waymark. |

DCA-21 Cars Land Entrance |
Lloyd and his family headed to the Disneyland Resort just a week or so after Cars Land opened in June, 2012. He managed to enjoy the new area and find several benchmarks! This one is near the entrance to this brand-new land. Link to waymark. |
DCA-22 Luigi's Flying Tires |
As the name suggests, Lloyd found this mark outside of the Flying Tires ride in Cars Land. Anyone remember the old Flying Saucers ride from Disneyland? They hovered on a cushion of air, too. Link to waymark. |

DCA-23 Mind Your Speed |
One of the new benchmarks that Lloyd found in June, 2012 is along a walkway that parallels the route of the Radiator Springs Racers ride, near a sign that says "Mind Your Speed." Link to waymark. By the way, the happy looking benchmark-hunting group in Larry's photo below consists of Larry's wife Julie; Meg and Lloyd; and three-year-old Benjamin, who's apparently taking a break from a hard day of benchmark hunting. :-) |

DCA-24 Lost Wheel Arch |
Under Mount Hood and above Cars Bad Caverns is the intriguing Lost Wheel Arch, and that's where Lloyd found this small survey mark. |

DCA-25 Cross Street |

DCA-26 Tower of Terror |
Lloyd had long suspected that there should be a survey mark near the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror because of its location at an extreme point of DCA, but it wasn't until his June, 2012 trip that he found one. It's another one of the smaller variety. |
DCA-27 Carthay Circle Fountain |
The old Sunshine Plaza Fountain is gone, but there's now a new fountain in front of the Carthay Circle Theatre in the redesigned entrance plaza at DCA. Larry found this survey mark near the fountain in July, 2012. Link to waymark. |
DCA-28 Glendale-Hyperion Bridge |
The bridge that takes the monorail over DCA has been rethemed to match the new 1930s Los Angeles theme of the DCA entrance area, so it's no longer a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead, it's a representation of the Glendale-Hyperion Bridge. Larry found this benchmark underneath it along Buena Vista Street near Big Top Toys in July, 2012. Link to waymark. |

DCA-29 Oswald's |
This mark is near a cute little retro gas station named after the Disney character Oswald the Rabbit. It's just inside the turnstiles at DCA. Thanks to Larry for spotting a benchmark there in July, 2012. Link to waymark. |
DCA-30 Storytellers |
Kurt came upon this one in October, 2012. It's in the hub near the Storytellers statue of Walt and Mickey. Link to waymark. |
DCA-31 Wine Country Trattoria |
Like the Tower of Terror mark, this is a survey nail with just the surveyor's company initials and license number. Thanks to Derek for spotting this. |
