The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is one of the largest family foundations in the United States, with investments all over the world. I wrote a brochure primarily for potential investment managers, but without specifically mentioning them so that Packard Foundation personnel could give it to other audiences as well.
What We Fund
The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children, enabling the creative pursuit of science, advancing reproductive health, and conserving and restoring the earth’s natural systems.
Conservation and Science
Through the Conservation and Science Program, we support public policy reforms, changes in private sector practices, and scientific activities to develop essential knowledge and tools for addressing current and future priorities. Grantmaking in this program is focused on ocean and land conservation, climate change mitigation, and scientific research.
Population and Reproductive Health
The Population and Reproductive Health Program seeks to promote women’s reproductive health and rights, and to stabilize population growth. Our grants fund innovative work that expands access to and advances the quality of reproductive health services, especially in South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the United States.
